Using a Pork Rub for Roasting

What kind of pork is best for roasting? We have found that pork shoulder makes the best pork roast, especially if you season it well with a good dry rub.

The pork rub comes in easy to use packaging that keeps the ingredients fresh until it is time to use. Pork rub is really tasty on pork chops, too.

For a different spin on pork chops, try combining freshly grated parmesan cheese with the rub seasoning after the pork has been cooked thoroughly. Serve it with homemade mashed potatoes, fresh blackeyed peas and a buttermilk biscuit

Using a Pork Rub for Barbecue

BBQ fanatics take as much pride in their BBQpork as they do in their favorite football team.

What style of BBQ is the best? It depends on who you ask because each state or region thinks their style is the best--from Texas to Memphis to the Carolinas and on up to St. Louis and Michigan.

They all have a different variation on how they make their BBQ.

Using a Pork Rub for a Slow Cooker

Adding a rub to your slow-cooked pulled pork can make all of the difference in the world.

We suggest using the Pork Rub to coat all sides of the pork prior to placing it in the slow cooker. Once the pork is in the slow cooker you can add in onions, apple cider vinegar, potatoes and carrots. Cook it on low for 8 hours or until pork is cooked through.

Using a Pork Rub for Smoking

Smoking a pork tenderloin in the mountains or camping at the hunting land is a family tradition. After many attempts to make the recipe “just right,” we found that adding the rub prior to smoking the meat was the key.

We like to use an old 55 gallon drum smoker and a liberal amount of dry rub to coat the tenderloin. The results are a fantastic and scrumptious flavor...and we aren’t just blowing smoke.
